What To Look For In A Quality RV Dealership

Purchasing a recreational vehicle is a big decision. When you’re researching where to buy your new RV from, you want to make sure that you’re working with a dealership that’s reputable that will sell you a quality product.

Brock White is the general manager at RV Dynasty.

At RV Dynasty, we believe the three most important values of a quality RV dealership are location, transparency, and service. Let’s take a look at why those values are important when you’re selecting a dealership to buy an RV from.

LOCATION

Location matters, but it’s not about finding a dealership that is close to where you live.

We’re located in north central Indiana, about a 90-minute drive from Elkhart County, Ind., where about 83% of North America’s RVs are built. That means if we don’t have an RV that you want on the lot, we likely can order it from the manufacturer and possibly have it delivered to the lot the same day (depending on the manufacturer’s inventory).

We typically have about 150 new and used RVs on the lot, but there are around 400 new floor plans, across 38 brands, on our website for customers to order.

Being located in north central Indiana also means we can offer lower prices to customers. Many dealers across the country must pay $3,000 to $5,000 in delivery fees per unit.

“We don’t have to pay those [fees],” says Brock White, general manager at RV Dynasty. “We have our own delivery driver so we pass the savings along to the consumer. Most of our customers are from out of state. Sometimes they’ll make a camping trip out of it. They’ll drive here from out of state, and camp in the RV on the way home.”

TRANSPARENCY

When it comes time to talk about price, you want to work with a dealership that is transparent about its pricing, rather than one where you might end up paying hundreds or thousands of dollars more than you expected.

“The prices that we have on our website are the prices that we sell the RVs for,” White says. “A lot of dealerships charge additional fees. They’ll charge a prep fee, a delivery fee, and they won’t tell the customers about it until later on in the sales process, and it’s really a bad experience for folks.”

That kind of transparency is important to us — we wouldn’t want to be surprised by additional fees at checkout at the grocery store, so why would we want to do that to our customers?

Out-of-state customers often are amazed at how much lower RV Dynasty’s prices are compared to what their local dealers charge because of this.

SERVICE

When you’re buying an RV, you deserve to experience an extraordinary level of customer service and care. You should feel confident that the RV you’re buying is ready for you when you go to pick it up — and that you have a reliable team of people to help you with any maintenance or issues after you leave the lot.

When our customers pay a deposit on an RV, a work order is immediately sent to the service department to prepare the unit. Our experienced staff then conduct a 1- to 2-hour walk-through of the RV with the customer, making sure they’re satisfied with everything and are familiar with its features.

“We want to hold their hand from the beginning of the sales process all the way to the day they pick it up,” White says. “We also provide service to the customer after pick up. We’re more of a relational dealership than a transactional dealership. A lot of dealers are falling off from that nowadays. Customers are just dollar signs to them rather than building that relationship and having repeat business.”

Our warranty department also takes special care of customers if anything goes wrong with their RV, even on the occasion such problems stem from the manufacturing process.

“When their RV has issues we’re still helping them after that happens,” White says. “A lot of dealers will kind of put people off. As soon as they buy the RV, they’re off to the next customer. We keep the customer informed.”

Don’t just take our word for it — our customers agree. We have a 4.7 star rating on Google Reviews from more than 300 people.

April D. bought her first ever RV from us and had a great experience with everyone she worked with.

“Do not be fooled that a smaller location can’t beat a huge, nationwide commercial dealer because they are far superior on pricing and customer service,” April wrote on Google.

“No matter if you are buying a smaller RV to a larger RV, the price does not matter. You will receive great customer service. They have a customer for life!”
