Mammoth Cave National Park is a phenomenal camping destination in central Kentucky! Your entire family will love this impressive and unforgettable natural wonder, and it’s the perfect place to visit in your new or used RV!
About the Park
The longest known cave system in the entire world is right here at Mammoth Cave. It stretches more than 400 miles and more of the cave system is being discovered all the time! There are almost 12 miles of cave trails for visitors to enjoy, and above ground, you’ll be able to explore nearly 70 miles of beautiful nature trails. The park itself sprawls across 53,000 forested acres – so if you’re looking for a beautiful, serene getaway, this is the place for you!
Caving Tours
Mammoth Cave National Park has incredible caving tours available for visitors! These tours range in difficulty and length. You’ll find easy and shorter (quarter-mile) distances that are good for casual hikers or families with young children. You can also find moderate to advanced terrain trails that can range up to 3 miles in length. Plus, there are even some accessible cave trails, so visitors of all abilities can enjoy this incredible system. Because the internal temperature of the cave stays stable and constant year-round, you’ll love that it’s a perfect summer experience that doesn’t get too hot and sweaty.
Reservations are not required for caving tours, but are definitely recommended. You can take a look at the different cave tours, learn more, and make reservations here.
