We know that, whether you’re a seasoned RVer or an excited newbie, you love your RV. But what can make your RV even better is the accessories that you invest in.
There are tons of accessories to be found on the market, though. To help narrow down your search, we’ve included some that are essential for your travels next year.
Tap Push Lights
Lighting is an unexpected challenge for people who are just getting used to the space at hand in an RV, and that calls for some creative solutions.
Tap push lights are perfect if you’d like a little ambiance rather than harsh overhead lighting. If you’re trying to wind down at night, or you’re not quite ready for brightness first thing in the morning, these types of lights cast a warm glow and hardly take up any space at all. Plus, they’re easily accessible and can be controlled with the touch of your hand.
Screen Door Handle
If the screen door on your RV has gotten on your nerves, prepare to meet the solution you’ve been looking for. By attaching a screen door crossbar, you’ll not only avoid damage to your screen (which can be pricey to repair), you’ll also be able to open and close it much more easily.
Sound Machine
If you’re a major traveler, it’s likely that you’ll be spending the night in many different places while sleeping in your RV. But if you’re a light sleeper, the sounds of all these different locations may make it hard to get some shut-eye. That’s where a sound machine comes in. You’ll be surprised by how calming it is.
Portable Generator
Many RVs come with a generator onboard that you can hook up to either shore power or a portable solar panel. But the key to RVing is to always think ahead – and what if something happens like a busted breaker or a shot fuse? Then, you’re out of luck.
Investing in a portable generator (and keeping it charged) could be enough to save the day. At the very least, it has enough power to charge your phone, fridge, and a few other essentials.
You can use an easily transportable generator at your home base house, too, in emergency weather situations. This is an accessory you’ll never regret having.
Dehumidifier
RVs can get pretty humid thanks to the major temperature difference between the outside and the inside. This moisture in the air isn’t good for your RV, and it can get really uncomfortable for the inhabitants as well. Take care of the issue by stationing a dehumidifier somewhere central in the space.
First Aid Kit
It’s very likely that you already have a first-aid kit in your RV, but if you don’t, next season is the perfect time to get one. After all, you can never be too safe. Having a medical kit to take care of non-emergent needs like bug bites, sunburns, mild allergic reactions, splinters, cuts, scrapes, blisters, and stings is necessary for a safe trip.
Upgraded Shower Head
You won’t always find the best shower heads installed in your RVs. Sometimes you will, but typically only in larger models. In many cases, the water pressure might be pretty weak, which very few people enjoy. For a more effective (and better feeling) shower, invest in an upgraded shower head with better pressure and an array of settings to accommodate all of your passengers’ preferences.
Retractable Clothesline
If you’ve ever been on a cruise, you know all about retractable clotheslines. But guess what? These handy things aren’t just for the high seas. You can also use them to make the most of space in your RV; the cord typically stretches over nine feet and it’s perfect for drying swimsuits or your run-of-the-mill laundry.
Portable Mosquito Repeller
If there’s something that every RVer hates, it’s the mosquito. Bug spray doesn’t always work (and it smells so strong) and citronella torches are difficult to transport, so the best way to avoid those scratchy bites is to get a mosquito repeller for your RV. This repeller diffuses a chemical that’s safe for humans and deadly to mosquitoes, dispelling it for 15 feet so you can enjoy a summer night outside without being eaten alive.
WiFi Extender
Most campgrounds offer WiFi, but that doesn’t mean the signal is strong. If you want to enjoy a nice night in with your devices without the feed cutting out every five minutes, we recommend getting a WiFi extender that strengthens the signal enough to reach right to your comfy little abode.
Slide-Out Corner Guard
Many RVers know the agony of accidentally hitting their heads on the corners of the slide-outs – it can ruin your entire day, which is exactly why corner guards were invented. If you hit your head on these, it may still come as a surprise, but it won’t come paired with a shooting headache.
Rear-View Camera
Operating an RV is a big task, especially when you’ve never done it before. Having a rear-view camera in place lets you know that you’re maneuvering this big vehicle without causing any mishaps. When you’re backing up, a camera will show you your blind spots and make you more aware of how to operate the RV as you’re getting used to how it feels.
Portable Outdoor Projector
Is there anything better than an outdoor movie night? We don’t think so. Having a portable outdoor projector will make your RV the place to be for your campsite friends. Enjoy the film while taking in the night air, without having to squeeze into someplace uncomfortable.
